“Above the Influence” Launches Two NEW Youth Activities
Community partners across the country have embraced the ATI campaign and have used the activities from the ATI Activities Toolkit as a new way to engage youth in a dialogue about the negative effects of substance use and other risky behaviors.
To build on the success of the three original ATI activities (“Tag It”, Art Project, and Influence Video Discussion Guide,) the Media Campaign has worked with community partners to develop and test two NEW activities!
The two NEW activities included in the refreshed ATI Activities Toolkit include the following:
- “Be It” – Empowers teens to “be” the positive influence by helping them to identify their own personal brand and create a slogan that best represents them and how they live their lives to stay above the negative influences. Teens will develop awareness of how their actions impact how others see them and that they have the power to be a positive influence for others.
- “Bring It” – Asks teens to “role play” a variety of scenarios that portray real and challenging situations they might face in their daily live. The activity builds resistance skills that empower teens to address difficult situations and make healthy choices that help them stand firm against the pressures they face.
