Announcing ATI Day 2015
Our 4th annual national Above the Influence Day (ATI Day) is planned for Tuesday, October 27, 2015. On this day, we celebrate teens across the country who are making healthy, informed decisions and staying true to themselves.
We encourage local youth serving organizations to mark this day by engaging with teens to explore the influences in their lives – the positive and the negative – and to discuss healthy strategies for coping with the varied influences that can contribute to drug and alcohol abuse.
If you haven’t already, please check out our full suite of toolkits and activities. Our newest activities focus on the many stressors facing young people today, and takes a deeper dive into the misuse of prescription drugs with the powerful video Not Prescribed and accompanying discussion guide.
Leading up to ATI Day, we’re asking teens to identify and share with us the negative influences they encounter and strive to rise above. These will be highlighted as a part of the event taking place on the 27th, and nationally on our social networks that include Facebook, Instagram and Tumblr. For those of you familiar, you’ll recognize this call to action as a part of our Tag It activity. Please encourage the teens in your community to participate and share their tags during our run-up to ATI Day!
ATI Day will also feature the premiere of our latest commercial. Look for the brand new ad to debut across our online properties that day, and on the airwaves in the weeks to follow.
To complete your ATI Day plans, we encourage you to visit our official merchandise store at www.shopabovetheinfluence.com. Group t-shirt orders can be customized with your own school or group message!
Engaging with local youth on national ATI Day is the perfect way to conclude National Substance Use Prevention Month. So celebrate the strength of your local teens with us on this day. Please share any plans or photos with us in advance so that we can promote your activities at our flagship event in Washington DC, and let us know how we can help you make this day a success for you locally.
